special dietary needs?

being absent?

I originally intended, is that a problem?
What
happens with regard to pre-admissions visits?
All children and parents / carers are
invited to visit the nursery prior to admission. This gives both
child and parents an opportunity to get to know the staff and
time for the child to bond with their key worker. We usually
offer two one hour sessions free of charge just before the child
is due to start nursery, the first one we encourage parents to
stay and complete the “About me” booklet and get to know the key
worker, the second visit is your opportunity to leave your child
before their first day. Please ask for more details.
How secure is the nursery?
Naturally there is close supervision at
all times. The nursery doors are locked at all times and the
outside gates are secured before activities. The playground is
also checked for any hazards.
How can I be certain that my child only leaves the nursery with
me or a person I have sent?
Parents / carers are asked who will be
the person(s) collecting on a regular basis on admission. We
also ask parents to inform staff if anyone other than yourself
will be picking up and operate a password system. If we were at
all unsure we would ring you.
How long is your waiting
list?
This varies with your requirements and
we will tell you the situation as you are shown round.
Would I be notified if any of the nursery children was diagnosed
as having an infectious disease?
A notice will be displayed on the
parent’s information board and all the necessary precautions
taken.
Do I have to
register for a place?
It is advised to reserve a place, the
earlier you do so the better chance you have of obtaining the
sessions you require.
Is there an extra
charge for meals?
If your child is at nursery when the
meals are being served then it is included within the fees,
there is no extra charge
If
I was late arriving at the nursery in the evening what would
happen?
Firstly, don’t panic, we will welcome a
telephone call but understand that sometimes that is not
possible. We will arrange for two members of staff to wait until
you arrive.
Where do the majority of the families live who attend the
nursery?
Most of our families live within a 5
mile radius of the nursery, however we do have some that travel
many more!!
How often do you
have a fire drill?
Every month, and we can evacuate the
nursery quickly and safely. Registers are checked to ensure that
no one is hiding.
What would happen in an emergency say if my child had an
accident?
It depends on level of accident. Parents
would be contacted and a member of the management team would
make the decision as to whether to call a doctor or ambulance.
As part of training we aim to ensure we can deal with
emergencies and all our staff hold a paediatric first aid
qualification.
How many
children are you registered for?
Our registration certificate is situated
in the entrance hall. We are registered for 90 children, 27 of
those can be under 2.
How do you cater for children who have special dietary needs?
When you register and have your settling
in visits you will be asked if you have any special dietary
requirements and we will accommodate them, there is a vegetarian
option each meal.
What do I pay in the event of my child being absent?
In common with most nurseries in the
area we charge full rates as we still have to keep your place
open.
I
have been asked to work more hours than I originally intended,
is that a problem?
Ask and we will do our best to
accommodate you.
You will have many more questions, so please ask away….. |
